The D-Day Museum in Portsmouth

On June 6th 1944, the invasion of Normandy, D-Day, signified the beginning of the end of World War II.

The museum dedicates itself to the whole operation of when and how the plans and preparations of D-Day evolved, to the day itself of the invasion of Normandy.

The museum includes memories of the D-Day landing from local people and those who were part of it, footage, photographs and sounds of the War, and a detailed timeline of what happened on the day of the 6th June 1944. The museum also includes a 34 panel embroidery dedicated to all those who took part.

Just a short walk away from the hotel, the D-Day Museum is a great tribute to all those who fought for our freedom in the Second World War.
